Reception at Dumbarton House, Georgetown, for CARH Annual Meeting and Legislative Conference, June 10, 2012.

The Historic Dumbarton House, headquarters for the National Society of the Colonial Dames in America, was the beautiful setting for this Annual Reception.

All the flowers for this large scale mass arrangement came from my garden, as well as friends' gardens.

For this garden arrangement, I used lambsear, cone flower, hydrangeas, lacecap hydrangeas, butterfly bush, asters, phlox, honeysuckle, jasmine and ferns.  I used my heavy garden container that I bought at Hobby Lobby last year. It won't tip or turn over in the car when transporting the arrangement.  I used 2 blocks of grande oasis.

Design Cuisine of Washington, DC catered this garden Reception

For the cafe and cocktail tables, I placed mophead hydrangeas from my garden, in low glass bowls, and surrounded them with strands of jasmine.  They were very effective with the yellow tablecloths and yellow walls in this cheerful room at Dumbarton House!

This arrangement is easy and quick to make, as well as to take away after the party!
