Welcome to "Bourbon and Boxwood," the Fredericksburg Friends of Stratford 2010 Party, at the home of Lee and Charles Rowe. As guests entered the front door, they were greeted by these graceful arrangements, one on each side of the large center hall. I used Japanese maple, dogwood branches and ornamental grass. The arrangement on the right. Dogwood and ornamental grasses. |

I filled Lee Rowe's olive jar with limelight hydrangeas and a little crepe myrtle from my garden, and tall stems of rosemary from Lee's. I placed it in the center of the Conservatory, so guests could see it as they approached the patio, down the long center hall at the Rowe's. |

Lee has 2 large antique Imari urns on the top shelf of her Conservatory. We spotted them and had to bring them down for the Dining Room Table at "Bourbon and Boxwood." I filled them with limelight hydrangeas from my garden and ornamental grass from Lee's. We placed one on the center of each end of the table. We put a beautful silver bowl in the center of the table with sumptuous red pears. The delicious food is by Silver Spoon Catering of Richmond, VA. This makes me think of India! |
Bust of Robert E. Lee, flanked by brass mint julip cups filled with English Boxwood, greet guests in the hall at the Rowes.
Hydrangea, rosemary, honeysuckle and other greens on the mantle in the living room, flanked by Lee's antique Imari plates and watched over by a Rowe ancestor, at "Bourbon and Boxwood."
One of Caroline Natvig's adorable garden urn arrangements she did for all the tables at Bourbon and Boxwood!

The Patio Centerpiece at Bourbon and Boxwood, one of my all-time favorite arrangements! |

Caroline Natvig did these adorable arrangements of limelight hydrangeas and zinnias from my garden. These were on all the tables on Lee and Charles Rowe's Patio for Bourbon and Boxwood. I have about 10 of these small garden urns and they're great for parties! |

Guests at "Bourbon and Boxwood" each took home a mini bottle of Virginia Gentleman Bourbon, made in Fredericksburg at the Bowman Distillery, with a stainless steel plant tag from the Stratford Gift Shop and a sprig of English boxwood. Chris Morin made all of these favors and then artfully arranged them in her antique wooden 3-tiered piece. Pictured are the Fords, Sarah Pierson and Darlene Flemer. |
